Chain-of-Custody forestry certifications further validate cei’s commitment to the environment.
cei is Chain-of-Custody (COC) certified with:
- Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
- Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)
- Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC)
These certifications ensure customers that cei's paper based products (designated as certified) come from well-managed forests. Customers can now request the base paper used in the manufacturing of its products is certified to the standards of one or more of the above forest management agencies.
Chain-of-Custody tracks paper products throughout its life cycle, beginning with proper forestry management all the way to consumption by end-users. As a Chain-of-Custody certified manufacturer, cei meets strict tracking requirements for ensuring that paper products sold as COC certified come from well-managed forests and recycled paper.

The FSC sets forth principles, criteria, and standards that span economic, social, and environmental concerns. The FSC system includes stakeholders with a diverse array of perspectives on what represents a well-managed and sustainable forest. The FSC standards for forest management have now been applied in over 57 countries around the world. www.fsc.org |

SFI Inc. is a fully independent, charitable organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. Its forest certification standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value. The PEFC Council is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests. www.pefc.org |
